Campanula is a stunning "must have" cut flower with upward-facing, bell-shaped flowers. Can be planted in fall to overwinter for spring - use row cover in colder zones. On arrival, repot or bump up to larger trays until they are ready for transplant to the field. Transplant to the field when day length is under 12 hrs. 12hrs or more hrs of light initiates blooming.
Blooms: Spring
Height: 27-35"
Light: Sun
Spacing: 4-6" (5x5)
Light: Sun
Harvesting: Cut stems when first buds are open; unopened buds will bloom in the vase. Dip stems in 100ºF water to reduce latex flow and then place in tepid water with a bactericide (chlorine tablets). Keep the stems in a cool spot in an upright position to avoid stem bending.
Post-Harvest Care: Holding solution.
Storage: Stored cut stems upright at 36ºF either wet or dry for 1 week; however, longer storage will reduce vase life.
